Be Kind To Your Body

Tip Of The Day

Posted by Debbie Ford on Fri, 12/21/2007 - 10:04am
The holidays are about finding the blessings of life and yet so many of us are critical of our bodies and appearance. Today, try to spend five minutes appreciating every part of your body and finding the things you love about it. Send love to every part of your body, from your head to your toes — spending extra time on the areas that you've hated or judged.

With the competing demands of family, friends and loved ones, you're probably feeling pulled in all directions today. Amid the frenzy of the holiday season, try to give yourself the permission to say “No” to one request or invitation and allow extra time just for yourself.

Enjoy Some Silence

Tip Of The Day

Posted by Debbie Ford on Wed, 12/19/2007 - 9:39am
Feeling lonely has more to do with your connection to self than your connection to others. The holiday frenzy leaves many of us feeling isolated. Reconnect to who you really are by treating yourself to some silence today. Take a half hour, turn off your phones and computer, close your office door and revel in the quiet of being with yourself.

Everyone seems happy at holiday time but you. If you're feeling angry and irritated, I want you to just play. It sounds a little weird, but it actually works. Schedule an activity that has no purpose other than pure fun. How about bowling, backgammon or even a silly movie? Play can jolt you into a better mood. Try it!
